Over the past decade, I've worked on privacy, identity, consent and information governance.
The more we explored these disciplines, the more one question kept returning.
Why does every organisation have to rebuild trust for itself?
We started by trying to solve individual problems.
Consent.
Privacy.
Identity.
Compliance.
Over time we realised those weren't the problem.
They were all symptoms of something larger.
The real gap exists at the boundary between organisations—where trusted information leaves the system that created it and becomes, to everyone else, an assertion that must be verified all over again.
That became the foundation for Gwirio.
We have built a platform that enables organisations to issue trusted assertions that carry their own evidence of origin, authority, purpose, integrity and validity, so that other organisations can verify and rely on them without repeating the same work.
We are not trying to replace identity systems, privacy platforms or compliance frameworks. We believe these systems are more valuable when they operate as part of a broader Trust Infrastructure.
The name Gwirio comes from the Welsh word meaning "to check, to verify and to prove true."
That single idea has guided everything we've built. If trust can be established once, verified independently and relied upon many times, we stop rebuilding the same foundations over and over again.
That's the future we're working towards.
With trust comes privacy, the reduction of risk, safer economic transactions and less abuse.
I'm now looking to have conversations with organisations that are dealing with these problems in the real world.
